Plot Twist Cards
Plot Twist Cards is a new system I am incorporating into my campaign. This system will hopefully help facilitate roleplaying, and in addition reward your character by allowing the spending of these points to create those ‘heroic’ moments in the campaign.
When the player does something that enhances the story or gameplay he/she may receive a Plot Twist Card. You can hold as many plot twist cards as you want, but when you go up a level, you must discard down to two cards maximum. You can only play a maximum of 1 plot twist card per game session. These rules are in effect to force the players to ‘use’ the cards and not horde them for expended periods of time.
The DM may at his discretion not carry forth with the played card if he feels that it would jeopardize the plot or diminish the excitement of the game. Otherwise the player can alter the storyline, or manipulate a situation with these cards. In many cases playing these cards will enhance gameplay and create unexpected turns in the sessions.
